There are currently 15 en-suite rooms for single occupation. All our rooms are carpeted and curtained and have television and telephone sockets. They each have their own kitchenette with refrigerator provided.
Lunch and a light supper are offered in the dining room daily, with breakfast (items provided) to be taken in residents’ own rooms.
Who are we for?
Our house is for people over 55 who do not want to live on their own, but prefer to maintain their independence by living in a small community with key services provided.
“It’s like living in the Ritz!”
“Everyone thought it was wonderful and that Mum couldn’t be in a better place.”
“You gave Mumsie laughter, friendship and wonderful care – you gave her a happy home.”
Pepperell offers a unique experience for individuals who occasionally need support. Staff are helpful and excellent listeners.
Pepperell works well for those who want a home from home, but don’t require nursing care. We have the freedom to come and go and keep our independence for as long as possible.
The staff are so helpful and patient. The food is excellent and the garden is lovely. There are good social events. It was the right decision to move here.
The Local Area
Pepperell House is close to all the amenities of Shaftesbury, a town steeped in history. With its famous Gold Hill, Shaftesbury has several shops and cafés, churches, chemists, banks, a post office, pubs and a hotel in its High Street. There is also a market every Thursday and a farmers’ market once a month.
The dining room overlooks the terrace and beautiful garden, which has stunning views over the Blackmore Vale. There is a modern laundry, a sitting room and mini hair salon on the ground floor with French windows opening onto a paved patio area. We have multiple lifts and a small private car park to the rear of the building.
Life at Pepperell
The residents are all looking forward to our annual fantastic fireworks display followed by a traditional hot dog supper and Jeanette’s bonfire cake.
End of Summer Garden Party.
